[H]ardOCP (http://www.hardocp.com) is reporting that the new Intel LGA Socket might not be of the quality you can expect.
It's the sockets on the boards and the pins within the sockets that are causing all the problems - bent pins, broken pins.... I saw a minimum of 25% fallout on our validation platforms due to socket damage... the chips all remained in good working order. Keep in mind, people in the Intel labs swap a lot of CPU's, but they are also trained techs and engineers that are killing these boards...
