View Full Version : Nvidia faces G71 shortage
There is a shortage of G71 cards in Europe, and it looks like Nvidia just can't print the chips fast enough. Many of Nvidia's partners have tons of 7900 GTX and 7900 GT backorders and some have hundreds of pre-ordered cards that they can't ship. It doesn't look like Nvidia is going to fix the shortage any time soon, but there are still places where you can purchase in stock G71 cards. I would buy one now, before they become scarce. This looks like the 7800 GTX 512MB all over again.

lol its a good thing ATI doesn't pull that kind of stunt with its customers. I don't really care though, X850XT is more then enough power for my games :D

And they make it seem like so many people are buy when in fact their "pre-orders" tells me they don't have the resources to fulfill demand. :shadedshu
You should never have people still waiting on pr-orders if you are that successful with your product, such fanboy bias...unreal!
BTW it is the 7800GTX all over again. I wouldn't put it pass me to think they are having problems with G71 performing up to snuff with performance per watt of heat.

Stunt, what stunt?
The problem is nVIDIA has a vcard on their hands that almost everyone wants. Basically the demand is out stripping the normal ability to deliver.

yeah, well ATI had plenty of R520/R580/Xpress200/Xpress3200 when they released that. Nvidia on the other hand has been unable to keep up with its new G71's.
