That's pretty cool, all the legal stuff they had to say because of the video at the end made me laugh too.

i dont really understand....the bullet went thru and hit the fish tank....meaning it wasnt bullet proof... it still functions despite being penatrated by a bullet.

Those racks have some many redundant fiber connections and each array has two controllers, that it could survive the lose of one ...

Don't think small, think what happens if you unleash MetalStorm on that puppy!

Pffft @ 30 rounds when you can fire a million rounds (http://www.metalstorm.com/index.php?src=news&prid=77&category=Latest%20Video%20%26%20Live%20Firings) at it instead. http://ganjataz.com/Forum/images/smiles/ebil.gif

yeah, but where's the fun in that?

You need GPS co-ordinates to find where the fun in that would be?

Watching that system get shredded in a second would be awesome.

army should use some of these...

pfft

anything is more fun that just pushing a button and watching something getting shredded...
i'd rather watch paint dry...

just pick up that 9-pound amalgamation of plywood and steel that is the former soviet union's greatest export, and the world's most prolific weapon.
stick that 30 cartridge 7.62x39mm magazine in, move the safety just down one notch to that little hole with the "A" next to it, pull back on the mechanism and release it with that ever-so-satisfying metallic CHING! of the blot scooping up a round and pushing in into the chamber, and unleash the warsaw pact's finest bit of engineering on whatever happens to be in front of you...

WHAT CAN BE MORE FUN THAN THAT?! :D

It's cleaning the gat afterwards that spoils that fun.

& having fired more than my share of rifles, I'd rather play with some new high tech gear. ;)

the ak becomes magically accurate and hits the same place 30 times!

that's the thing about the AK, its so elegently simple, it dosent need to be cleaned.

it dosent break, jam, or overheat, it will fire wether covered with mud or filled with sand or powder residues, or all of those together. its so simple a child can use it... and unfortunantly, they do...

the thing is so damn simple, its GI-proof.

and having fired more than my share of rifles and other weaponry as well, you gotta appriciate such a creation. :)

and besides... blasting the crap outta whatever with an automatic weapon = plain good old fashioned fun. :D

heh. ive shot an ak and thank god it had a stock on it. those things kick real nice...but the only problem they have ever had was weight/accuracy. the carbines skattered bullets and the long barreled guns were really heavy. oh and they do overheat... after about 5 clips in a minute the barrel will warp.

Yeah they do, cos anyone trying to return a dirty weapon to my armskote got it thrown right back at them.

All weapons of this nature require cleaning, otherwise they rust up, the carbon builds up and stops it firing or the barrel gets screwed. While it may not require nor take as long as a Rifle 5.56mm, it still needs some TLC.

no, it dosent. believe me.
most weapons which are considered reliable do, all weapons other than the Avtomat Kalashnikov model of 1947 do. but ye-olde AK-47 does not. and i'm saying this on a first hand basis.
it does not need to be cleaned.
it does not rust or overheat (at least the russian models dont rust and overheat, the chezh, korean, east german, chinese and israeli sometimes do to some extent), it does not break down, it will fire wether its completley covered with mud or filled with sand or carbonized powder residues, or all of those. you can pour sand down the barrel, you can leave it for months on end in saltwater or even put a decet sized rock right inside the mechanism, and it will just keep on going and going and going...
it does not jam. it is the epitome of elegance, simplicity and reliability. it is the one, the only the GI-proof AK-47. :D

Ever see a breech/barrel explode?

Not pretty at all, thus a good reason to clean any round firing weapon. It's only a matter of time before the gases and round can't make it down the barrel and then when it can't, oh look, no head...

Sorry but we are gonna have to agree to disagree on this one.

It is a fantasticly simple, rugged and useable weapon, but it's not invincible.
