Try it, Windows won't let you do it. Don't ask me why. My friend found out from one of those random fact lists.

CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, and LPT9.
are all reserved for DOS devices. non of these can be used for folder names.

con cant be dir/file. Not sure what it is exactly, though the command copy con for example was used to make files when you lack an editor.
Probably short for console or something, so it would copy the console to a file.

Makes sense. It's a lot more interesting knowing about it than it just being a random fact.

Knowing MS-DOS (or PC-DOS, DR-DOS, etc) past dir, cd and copy is a nice basis for computer knowledge.

If you have an old version of Windows (95 or 98) and ancient IE, you can cause Blue Screen by typing c:/con/con to address bar and hitting Enter
