I have a question, do I need that RAID Controller card to have RAID 0, or can I just plug my harddrives in directly to the SATA ports on the motherboard?

Depends on whether or not your motherboard has a Raid controller built in to it, and whether or not it supports Raid 0. Chances are if it has a raid controller it will support Raid 0 though.

The benefits of having an external card like this one would be:

1. Four ports (some mobos only have two, or only two PCI-locked ones)
2. This card supports Raid 0+1, where you can stripe two drives (Raid 0) and mirror them to another set of two striped drives (Raid 1)
3. An add-in card like this can be moved from system to system, insread of the built-in controller staying on the mobo

I got this card for reason #1 above, as my MSI board only had two PCI-locked ports. In order to add another array (I wanted one Raid 0 and one Raid 1) and still overclock I needed a card like this.

Question:

Does the slot fan blow the air AT the video card or suck air OUT of the case?

It looks like it would cost $10 more sending it Airmail Letter Post to you in Uruguay than shipping it in the US via Priority Mail.
