sadly, yes it is...my softmodded 9800SE got about 2000 in 3Dmark05. Then it retired, I got an X850XT, and now I get 6K :D. Best way to solve this is with some overclocking, system tweaks, and better video card cooling. Happy Gaming!

Definitely result of 2300 plus points in 3DMark05 is normal for 9800PRO :) .

ATIsilencer1 sounds alright, at least its better then stock lol. Download ATItool, it will find your card's full potential. But don't clock it up too high, or you'll deep-fry your card. All sorts of guides that will tell you just how high you should go, several opinions on what exactly you should do, all sorts of factors that will change your OC...it all adds up to "you need to discover these things on your own".
