on some games like sims2 , and fear not even on maxed out setting.....i got 7600gt 1gb ram and 3200 venice at stock speeds....what u guy think getting more ram might help or better not 2 bother with ram and go 7600gt SLI?plus if i do so is mine 3200 enought to handle sli or i might bet a bottleneck there....any opinions would be great

if u are running the acer at its native resolution.. your 7600 will be struggling.. with fear at the highest quality texures u need 2 gigs of system ram.. but the card might still struggle..

if lack of system ram is the problem.. u will get big sudden type stops.. this is cos the game has to use the windows swopfile.. your hardrive light will also flicker on..

if its just slow fps its not lack of system memory just too high a setting and resolution for the card.. its easy to tell the difference..

its kind of a double problem really.. if u go sli u will run bigger textures and the lack of system memory will show up..

your cpu is okay thats not the problem..

yeah, its prob the ram... but your still not goin to be able to max out fear with 2g's ram with the res on that 19in widescreen of yours... sli would help if its the resolution maxing out your card... do you have any friends that have got a 2g memory kit? if so try theirs, and if that helps go out and buy some, but if its not go sli... and yeah the cpu is fine

one upgrade just leads to another.. he he he.. but things do have to be matched.. u will need the 2 gigs of ram.. bin there done that..

I wouldnt say system ram is the primary culprit, ive tested the theory of 2GB and FEAR, and by setting my swapfile to 1024 with a max of 2048 i get equally smooth performance than if i added the extra physical gig. start with the basicsand run the built-in framerate app with FEAR and tell us your max average and minimum fps.
