Right.. im building my pc for the first time and i have everything installed almost and im putting on the cpu (amd 939 3700+ and heatsink and fan provided)

now ive put in the processor, no problems and i've put the fan on top however i can't seem to clip both the clips down, its ultra hard and i dont want to force it too hard. Any advice? please help.

basically i got both clips on at one stage with a lil screwdrive but the locking mechanism bar on the right wouldn't go down so i sensed a problem and unclipped the bars again.. im sure they should be able to clip without much force but all the instructions i have are diagrams no words. What am i doing wrong?

have you fixed the prob yet if not check that the fan is seated properly on the cpu it shouldnt require to much hassle ive built many comps and ive never had that prob

i recently had the same problem, both metal clips where on the plastic mounting bracket like they were suppose to be, the heatsink was seated properly, but the locking arm would not go down.

im not saying you should do what i did but i really just forced it down, it locked down and no damage was done, except to my fingers.
