Hey there guys, first post, new place, be gentle.
I want to flash my X1900XT to XTX bios, however when I load up winflash, and select the XTX bios it when I click on "program" it says "P/N mismatch".
Do I have to rename the file at all? At the moment its just called "Sapphire.X1900XTX.512.Samsung11_051221.bin"
Is there something i'm missing here?
Thanks for looking.
Sal.

Don't know if you're doing something wrong or not. I have the exact same card by the exact same company and get an error that says it cannot find a 'device' to flash. Maybe someone will respond and give us both a little help.

A what sorry?
Although im not a PC idiot, I am rather new to modding hardware etc, what do you mean by "force bios". As you can see from the above screenshot there are no "advanced" tabs or further options, unless you mean I have to edit some .txt files or something?

Thats great! If you use ATIFLASH, do you have to run that in DOS?

yes you do, if u need any help making a bootable flash drive or floppy or anythin lemme kno
Guys If you want I can prepare Automated Flash CD (Bootable) for flashing X1900XT to XTX and back. Just supply me with both BIOSes and with short description (memory type x.x ns and something similar). I can take these BIOSes from the collection but prefer to have also your X1900XT BIOS. XTX is clear ;) .

Ah no, its OK, I have just flashed my XT to XTX and its working fine. I had to download an older version of Winflash with the "force" button on it.
The screen went black for about 5 seconds, then Windows came back, then all was good! Restarted, and its running as an XTX.

Hey Dolf if the offer still stands I'll get back w/ you on Sunday. When you do this BIOS voodoo to these things...can you do other things too...like alter the fan speed? I have a Accelero on mine and I'd love to be able to turn the fan to 100%. Everything under the downloads I've tried will crank up the fan (ATItools) but for some reason will crash if I try to tweak the settings and even if I leave it alone (just turn the fan to 100% only) it seems to suck some of the power away from the card.

If you can do change the fan speed using RaBit2.0 and send me such modded BIOS (I don't want to do it myself because I can't try it - my card is X850XT PE AGP). Do it yourself and send me the BIOS with modded fan speed and also what other options you want to include in the utility (flash to X1900XT, to XTX ......)

I have flashed from x1900xt to xtx, THERE is NO difference worth doing so. Benchees are the same, max overdrive is the same, att oc is the same. ONLY difference is stock speeds, but who actually leaves it at stock?. I have reflashed original bios, and my Xt runs just as fast as my friends retail xtx at max overdrive. Flashing this card is not worth the trouble or risk, just to have "flased xtx" in your sig.

Well, there is, for the moment, those people who don't want to use ATi's CCC can only really overclock using ATi Tool (unless there is another decent reliable overclocking app?), however seeing as im using the 6.4 cats, these aren't compatible with ATi Tool, and encounter quite a lot of problems.
Therefore if you want to run higher clocks, I have no alternative but to flash to a higher card bios. I could always go back to the 6.3 cats and use ATi Tool, but the 6.3 gives me odd graphics glitches in some older games, 6.4's dont.
Its all fun and games isn't it!?:slap:

Hmmm...let me see if I understand. You dont use ccc because ATT will give you higher perf at same clocks?
Cant you run CCC at max overdrive? Still dont see why you need a bios flash...for permanent higher stock clocks?
ATT needs serious overhaul for these cards.
My overclock with ATT is 720/830 max, semi stable. I have tried both XT and XTX bios, it didnt matter which I use. Also using Cat6.4.

Errr, I thought ATi Tray Tools didn't support overclocking for X1800 / X1900 cards?

ATT=AtiTool

Yes you are correct.

Dolf, I messed up big time and sent you a PM hoping you can help me with a bootable image to flash my Sapphire X1900XT.

Seriously, everyone should refrain from flashing this card. There is absolutely no benefit. both xt and xtx run at max 690/800 no problem. XTX just sets minimum clocks higher, you can do the same thing with overdrive and not risk f-ing up your card. Just trying to save everyone some headaches.

wow. An extra 25Mhz core and 25MHz mem.... Am I missing something here? Why is the XTX like 100 bucks more? Can't you just OC an XT to xtx speeds?
Its about having a bigger epenis.

Exactly!
Yes and u dont need ATiTool either, just do it with overdrive.

Shouldnt this thread be deleted? it is pointless? LOL!:nutkick:
Nah, its not pointless, but the main reason is a bigger epenis. Being able to say you have an X1900 XTX sounds a lot cooler than an X1900 XT. Plus, its good if you reformat often, and don't want to keep installing ATITool, or want your card to be pre-overclocked withough having to buy the X1900 XTX.

Lol, I hear ya:rockout: Is easier just saying I have XTX since I always run at 690/800 than flashing XTX and running at 690/800, think anyone would mind if I added XTX to my sig:cool: ???
Seriously though I guess some people just dont touch the clocks, then yes it would be quicker (although dumber) to just flash.

I overclocked my GTO to XT speeds and unlocked it to 16 pipes but I dont tell them I have an X1800XT, or that I have a 218 dollar video card that can outperform a 500 dollar video card through certain secret unlocks that I personaly found on my own...NO! I just say I have an X1800GTO that performs fairly good.
And because of my humbleness, my epenis size is double that of an x1900xtx owner... Ney, TRIPPLE...

Does the computer startup behind it or can you tell its stopping on some sort of error? Turn the sound on... If the windows startup noise in the backround never comes up then the card needs to be RMA. I flashed my X1800gto and instead of just having a black screen with everything working in the backround, i can tell its getting an error saying it doesn't recognize the card. Other wise I could just flash the thing back. My replacement is on the way.
