Your card does not need any flash. Just overclock it using AtiTool and enjoy

Doesnt matter about the name, the hardware available is still the same, and it wont preform any different from overclocking..
heh, this thread reminded me of "All your base are belong to us!"

actually it does matter as the XT PE bios offers more voltage, the Sapphire 512 XT PE bios should be fine to flash the 256 version and it will give the card 1.42 v. I am trying to find out what the 256DDR3 Sapphire X1800XT card uses for voltage.
I have an X1800XT 256DDR3 , it has the 1.1ns DDR3 and I plan to flash it to XT PE bios today

So up your bios voltage using RaBiT.
...and the 512MB bios will mess up your card, unless you modify the latency and size.

yeah thats what I was thinking I am currently looking into this to see if I can find anyone who has edited the 512 bios. For now I may just live with overclocking it....

All you need to do is open your old bios with RaBiT and open the one you want to modify and update the new bios with your original memory latency settings. It should work, but there may be some hidden options that RaBiT will not cover that could cause problems. You can use RAMBIOS to test it without flashing, to make sure it won't screw up your card.

Or just increase voltage with ati tool. I have mine on 1.25 in 2D mode and 1.5 in 3D.

Do not flash with the PE bios if you have a 256 meg XT. It doesnt work.

Thx for heads up and the bother it may have caused should I have attempted. Did by chance you give this a whirl? Looks like o/c it to PE speeds will have to do. Gotta install Accelero X2 first though

and Xt PE bios also relax memory timings and the voltage its 1.48v not 1.42v.
i have a X1800XT 512Mb and i prefer overclok and change voltage in atitool than flash with PE bios ;)
regards
