Method 2 overdrive hacking (no hash) on 5xx0 working?

I just tried Method 2 overdrive hacking (no hash) on my 5830, and it worked!
So is this always valid? Could any of you try?

Does it work for 58x0 only? Or for all 5xx0? Or for all Catalyst 10.x driver versions?

It was valid for me on a reference 5850, I flashed my overdrive limits this way. When I looked at the Asus bios in RBE the method 2 limits were raised the same way.

method 2 is working fine on my ASUS EAH5970.
upped the ccc limit to 1250/1800

took a little time for me to understand how rbe1.25 works...
all i really changed in my bios was the vgpu register and the ccc-limit.
card is working nice now on 930/1100 with 1.15vgpu for 24/7 usage.

Method 2 works fine on my XFX 5850, upped the limits to 1100/1500, know I won't touch those #s but giving myself as much space to work with despite no voltage control.
