This thread is related to my last one. I just installed my new PSU and my computer booted up normally except that I smelt something burning I believe. I'm gonna make sure everything is connected in its proper place and see if that helps. When I booted it up I didnt reattach the cover to the PC case if that means anything. But as far as I saw everything was running fine except the burning smell. Thanks for any help in advance.
P.S.
I noticed there was some dust in the machine so I brushed it out using a soft little brush. Maybe its the dust burning b/c none of the compenents inside the PC seem to be over heating. If this is the case, what should I do?

Make sure anything works, It seemed like something must of sparked it or fryed inside your system. Happened to me when I got this, I smelt a Horid odor, though I did hear a loud popping noise....
Does it smell all the time?
Did you check everything to make sure everything works?
Did it go away and not come back?

I don't think I heard any loud popping noise. I believe the smell came from the cd drives. I'm gonna plug the machine back in and see if it plays music cds. I'll keep the system running for atleast five minutes and see what happens. Wish me luck...

UPDATE!!!
Alright the PSU, seems to be working just fine, except the fact my dvd drive is officially dead. I tried using different connectors to no avail....I smelled the drive up close and that is where the burning stench is the strongest by far. Oh well, I guess I'm gonna have to take the dvd drive back.........

Now, in light of this should I still try to connect my graphics card to my PC or what?

Yeah, I was crapping bricks before I put it in and what do ya know, it ran like a charm. The system itself seems to be stable at the moment too. Still gonna take it back to get a new dvd drive though.
