I just purchased and installed a MachSpeed P4M800 with a celeron processor. The computer seems to fire up ok with no warning beeps but for some reason my monitor isn't receiving a signal. I have tested this monitor on other computers and it works fine. There is a slot on the motherboard for an accelerated graphics port slot. Do I need to have a graphics adapter in the slot for my monitor to function? If not, any ideas on why I get no image?

Any videocard should be fine. You could check that the CPU is supported with your current BIOS. Perhaps check your memory (run less modules, other modules, etc) Did you connect both cables from the powersupply to the motherboard?

if you are using onboard video you may need to force it in bios. i also found many other links with similar probs with your board, Here is one of them.

Thanks for the advice but I am not sure if is helping me.
First of all, the cpu came together with the motherboard so I know they are compatible.
There is an accelerated video card slot in the center of the motherboard. I have the monitor plugged into the onboard monitor connector. Do you know if this motherboard comes with a video driver circuit/chip already installed? Do I need to purchase something to stick into that slot? My previous Soyo motherboard didn't have anything in that slot....
I cannot get to the bios at all since the monitor doesn't even indicate it is receiving any signal, even when I boot the computer up.
let me know if you have any further ideas...
Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I tried clearing the CMOS as you recommended - still no signal. I finally found the number for MachSpeed (interesting there is not contact info on their lifetime warranty or users manual). They had me unhook everything except the power supply and isolate the motherboard from the ground. Still no signal so they told me it was the CPU. It was interesting trying to send back an opened CPU which they told me they weren't supposed to take as a return unless I purchased a fan from them. - Anyhow, Tiger Direct made an exception and the new CPU is on the way. I'll keep you posted.
Have a great Memorial Day!!
