i'm going to buy this graphics card on newegg this week - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102017
i also want to get this cooler (http://www.bluebonepc.com/catalog/detail.asp?id=CK-TT-A1919), but i was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to this thermaltake cooler and if it would be more a more efficient cooler than the stock one.

well If it runs as hot as my x1600 and I bet it does the stock cooler sucks. glad you posted this I have been looking for a heat pipe cooler. oh my 1600 will run 67 c to 80 during game play if i juice it to 560 core it will hit 90c I shut it down just shy of 100c

Greetz!

Take a look @the Arctic Cooling solution i had that one on my Asus 850pro and it was just perfect. I payed something about 18€ (20$) and it was worth it. No more excessive noise and overclocking went to 615/615 stable!

Maybe this solution is something for ya?!

i prefer the ati silencer 5 it looks more professional than the thermaltake giant 3 if you saw it in person and tried it its not really that good your better paying the extra $3 and getting the ati silencer 5

it seems like using heatpipes along with the heatsink/fan would provide more efficient cooling than the standard heatsink/fan. the Extreme Giant III may seem bulky but i'm looking for maximum cooling (noise isnt too big of a deal).

i'm gonna go ahead and take your word for it and order the Arctic Silencer. I've read some reviews on the Extreme Giant III, but the Arctic Silencer boasts rear exhaust instead of recirculating hot air.
