Well, I'm getting a 7800GS AGP, looking at getting a Gainward 512mb w/ 24pipes, if i can find one.

Either way, I need water cooling for it, and wanted to see what you guys would recomend.

Also, which would be better, a water block that covers ram(front and back hopefully), or just the gpu, and sinks for the ram?

Thanx for your input.

Do you want a kit or want to find separate parts (Danger Den)?

not too worried about the cost for block or block/ramsinks

hey, if i have to order it from europe.. i will

i found the 7800GS with the 7800gt gpu in europe, but not the 7800GS with the 7900gt gpu.... it's not hard to get someone in europe to accept it, and ship it to you ;)

is it more effective at cooling the ram than just using good ramsinks?

is it the best for cooling the gpu?

Yea... Look at the black things, the ram goes on that, up to the whole unit, and cools amazingly well... See the black surround it under?

ok well i guess thats a "good" gpu block if your using 1/4 id hose, and dont have a 7800gs(not compatible), look at dangerden.com they have the best gpu blocks, and i have a maze4 with 3/8id fittings ill sell for cheap, then u need ramsinks, and those are pritty good but tall

I just built a comp with 1/2 id. and 3/4" od tubing and its big! I think the 1/4 is too small so look for a 3/8" kit.

The Swiftech was really nice for GPU and I used Copper heatsinks EPOXIED (I hate tape) and its sweet.

I would say look at the Danger Den but I think the full size cooler dosent fit the GS versions.

I use a custom water setup now w/ 1/2"ID 3/4"OD :D

it's the best agp card, especially the Gainward Bliss 7800GS 512mb with the 7900GT gpu and 24 pipes, the ones i'll have to settle for are teh 7800GS 256mb versions which have 16 pipes(the ones at newegg and monarch and such)

If ur gonna spend that much on a AGP y not just get a PCIX16 mobo?

I dont think any of the mentioned waterblocks will fit the 7800GS, there is currently no aftermarket air cooling for the card either.

You say that as if I don't know that. ;)

I'm wasting some time before K8L, and getting this:
http://webpages.charter.net/jinwpark/PhaseChange/ProductionA/
which I will transfer to my K8L or Conroe setup

I'm also going to get 2 74gb 16mb WD Raptors in raid 0, which will also transfer to my next system.

When I get my next system, all will go back to way it is in my 'System Specs', except the 7800GS will stay, the x800gto is going to a friend in need.

Well, I'll just use the best block for 7900GTX, if I have to mod it, and use ramsinks on both sides.

You can get thermaltake or swiftech (swiftech is better) RAMSinks. All copper too.

Here is the Swiftech ones:

I am sorry and didnt mean to suggest you didnt know about the PCIX16. It just seems like a waste to get the 7800 for any reason.

it's ok, i know, there's alot of noobs about :D

my point is to break some wr's before i leave socket A
and hopefully waste enough time for k8L to come out so i can decide between it and conroe, by then both the intel chipsets and nvidia/ati chipsets will have matured for both platforms

then i'll o/c the s*** out of it too.... :rockout:

btw, ill be doing a full write up of the adventure, post it at ocforums and xtremesystems forums, and link you guys here :D

The second one is the 7800 with 20 pipes.. Dam thats a lot for a VC...

the first one is right, it's the Gainward Bliss GeForce 7800 GS+ SILENT 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (AGP), the GS+ has the 7900GT GPU which has 24 pipes :D

That is a lot of a video card. You can get 2 X1800 GTO's for $340. But I understand that you have AGP and you want to wait until K8L and Conroe come out so...if you want the best AGP out there, go for it! Tell us how it goes and the scores etc.
