Powercolor X1600 w/o temp readings

I see that every X1600 has temperature sensor and you may read the values in the drivers or ATiTool, but I cannot read temps or control fan speed.
Is this something I can fix with a BIOS change?

are u sure u're using the latest verson of ATITool? (0.25 beta 14)
