I am in...
:)
APK
P.S.=> Perfect forums to startup such a team in, because the folks here have VERY powerful rigs, real "hotrods" imo - & systems like that chew thru units on SETI like candy!
So, if Folding@Home's like SETI@Home is? It's an EXCELLENT system benchmark...
I joined SETI@Home partially because of that (not only that, it is a noble/worthy cause too, but this one is moreso imo)... apk

This exaclty would be really good: http://folding.stanford.edu/
I think with the systems people have here we could pull out WU very easly+ we could also rank in amoung the froum and its users, make it a friendly compition.

I'm up for it, but not for about 2 weeks. Im busy with finals and a heavy work load, so when school is out I will see about setting this up if someone else hasn't.
Anyone is free to create a TPU team, just make sure the team is named TechPowerup in some way.

Can we make two teams? one for intel and one for AMD? I'll start up the intel one, hows "TechPowerup!~Intel" as the name? lol.. if you want to use this one for intel, the team number is 50711.
:)
Someone get to making the AMD section. lets get WU crunching.

No, one team. Some people have both AMD and Intel rigs. Working together is for the best.

So is this set up yet? And what is the team name going to be, just TechPowerUp?
Edit: Nevermind... just got the software and I can see it is set up. Does it matter if I don't run it too much? My PC isn't on too much and I won't be running it when I'm gaming.
Edit 2: Won't be joining you guys, the software tends to crash my PC when I first open it. Going to run Prime95 but I'm sure it isn't CPU or RAM related, I've stress tested already. If anyone can help out I'll join but I can't use it if it doesn't work. :(

Did you run console or graphical? console is less stressful and can finish WU's faster. There is a thread in Software about F@H for us, it is team number 50711

Well it did work ok once or twice and then ran fine, but most times it would just crash my PC when I first loaded it. I've used Prime95 to stress test and nothing bad comes up, so I'm going to try installing it again to see if it works better.

Use the console version 5.04, it allows you to choose newer, less researched cores. It also gives you extra points, shhh.. but it doesnt matter about the points, the WU's completed is what helps find cures.

Ok... I download the 5.02 console before you posted and it is working (after sorting the firewall - that might have been some sort of problem before). Should I upgrade to 5.04 then?
Edit: Upgraded!

yea you just have to remove the old exe and add the new one. :-) Hope that fixes your problems.
