hi i have recently purchased a sapphire x800pro vivo and have read on a few forums it is possible to flash the bios to unlock the 4 extra pipes.

ok well im new to vid card mods etc and i have a couple of questions (i did look through other topics but was unsure if the answers related to my particular card)

I checked in ATI tool and found that I do have the "F"s in the correct place so i asume my card is moddable, although mine reads as CONFIG_DIE_FUSES 0xEFF7FFFF and CONFIG_SUBSTRATE_FUSES 0xFFFFFF9F which is slightly diff than the example shown in the "is my card moddable" section, the numbers vary but the F's are in the correct spot so am i good to go??

secondly once the 4 pipes are unlocked do i need to OC the card or will it be fine running at the stock speeds AND do i need extra cooling or will the stock cooling be sufficient

I would really prefer to keep the card at its stock speeds and stock cooling and just unlock the 4 extra pipes.

which bios flash should i be using? ie- x850xt x800gto etc ( bare in mind im a n00b so feel free to correct my terminolgy)

also once the 4 pipes are unlocked is there much of a performance gain(keeping the stock speeds) and is the card stable? so is it worth it with stock speeds and cooling anyway?

also I am in Australia and am unsure if the batch will be consistant with other ppl from around the world that have successfully modded thier card

and how difficult is the procedure, will a n00b like myself be able to do it without to much trouble? i cant really afford a new card, after all its why i got the cheaper x800pro in the first place.

and finaly i saw you can flash through windows using a utility?? is this not recommended or is it fairly risk free??

all information greatly appreciated :)

cheers

edit: and btw it is AGP, not sure if that makes a diff....
