Hey guys, if any of you are interested in:
GeForce 6800 Go 256mb (overclocks from 300core/600RAM to 375core/800RAM)
1gb (2 sticks) DDR2 533 RAM (533mhz)
Pentium M 740 1.73ghz
XPS M170 full shell conversion kit (for 9300 owners out there)
Dell 9300/XPS M170 motherboard
9300 full shell kit(in case you hurt your original shell maybe?)
or if you guys just want a new laptop without a monitor and hard drive (but in a new XPS M170 shell), I'd be happy to let you have that too
__________________________________________________ ____
Then please reply to this post. They're all in perfect condition, gently used, nothing overclocked except for the 6800 and that was to see how high I could get it, but it was always just for 30 minutes or less, so obviously no damage or possible damage was done, I take care of my stuff.
Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention this is all for XPS Gen2 /M170/9300/9400/(possibly)9200 owners primarily, but obviously the processor's compatible with desktop mobo's too, and the RAM is universal for laptops, and the graphics card is standard mobile PCIe x16, so it might be compatible with some other laptops too.

well supposedly (talk to POGE) nvidia mobile PCIe in the 6 and 7 series are a universal format, but I doubt they fit in all laptop shells, maybe the slot but not the shell.
And the 6800 Go I've got is compatible with the 9300/9400/XPS M170/Gen 2/M1710 and possibly the 9200

hey man, I'm sorry but I already made a "nice" ebay trade. I traded my converted 9300/XPS for a guy's official XPS M170 and I had to give him $600 too. The best part is though, that "christian", "kind", businessman sob told me to send him the cash via Western Union. Well he made a nice invoice, real tracking number, even told me he already shipped it out, and we "gained each other's trust" on the phone, but of course nice guys always finish last and I got ripped off. So now I'm out $600 and still have my old 9300. I'm still trying to contact the guy though, I'm getting that money back if I have to go to his f*****n house (which is 1,500 miles away from mine lol), or I'm getting that XPS from him. Either way he's gonna lose, he's just making it really hard for me to do anything.
ANYWAY, simply put, the stuff isn't for sale anymore, it's kind of reserved for this ass trying to rip me off.

Never ever send money Western Union. You have no recourse to get it back and there is little chance you even got the guy's real name/address.

that really pisses me off! i hate scammers!!!! Everytime i do a search on ebay for Dell 9300 i always me across 3 or 4 blatant scams. you can tell fomr some tell tale signs...24hour auction, llisted email address in the auction to contact them instead of emailing through the ebay "ask a seller" link, too good to be true deal, wont take paypal, and the final clincher: if you click list sellers other items: you'll see a list of items all expensive all listed the same way, at the same time with the same 1 to 3 day auction, all have too good to be true deals.
You cant go by feedback anymore, people hijack accounts. I wish i worked for ebay i spot and report about 5-10 auctions a day. I wish i noticed your post sooner I would've gotten ahold of you. I cant believe that scammer actually took your Dell though...thats strange.I hate theives so fukkkking much its unbelievable... ive been robbed and I just hate thos fuking theives!!!!! Anyways sometimes you can get lucky and track the package back... if you for some reason can. I want your parts. Or if youre interested... i have some laptops there fast i can cut you a good deal if you'd like just cause I feel really bad about this. I have an ASUS Z71V and an ASUS Z81Sp im going to be listing on ebay soon.
fuking theives!

Ebay does not care about fake auctions because they make money on the listings. Plus, they don't have to worry about paying claims because the sellers almost never have enough feeback for full Paypal buyer protection, and 90% of the bad sellers get people to send them Western Union money orders or pay off of Ebay and that voids the fraud protection. I don't think the theif got his laptop, just his money. It sucks to pay the fees, but doing it properly through Ebay is the only way or you are almost certain to be burned. I also refuse credit card payments from non-verified members as they are almost always stolen and will be charged back. I have basically given up selling because of the problems and fees. Just isn't worth it anymore.
And you can report listings/sellers to Ebay and they will eventually ban them, just never in time.

I would have to say youre wrong.. ebay definetly does care a lot about fradulent auctions. They always stop it whenever possible and actually they move pretty darn quick compared to other web sites and similar services. I sell a good deal on there as well. Just because they cant refund buyers or make the situation all better after it happens doesnt mean they dont care.
They dont make money off of fradulent auctions at all, most likely the lister wont pay the fees and depending on what happened it will end up costing ebay in man hours plus the fact that it happens is a big deterrent for most people to want to join ebay so the safer they can make this place the better. I know they do care and are doing what they can to make it better, they are definetly lagging in some areas but mostly its red tape and legal blocks that hold things up. They want to be fair to everyone, if they made it too easy for buyers to get their money back, which some sellers actualy argue that already then it would push sellers away. Its hard to keep everyone happy.
Once youve been on ebay for awhile and use it a good amount, avoiding a fraudulent seller is easy. Those guys make some classic mistakes, anyways im sorry it happened but like the other guy mentioned he probably didnt get the laptop.... mayube he did but you should (im sure you already are) be tracking that laptop and where it went to and if whoever sent it can reverse the shipment..its not that hard and ive done it before. Friggin scammers... i'd love to beat the living hell out of him.

Hey guys, thanks for the tips, and thank you Chezouff for the offers man. But I didn't actually give him my laptop, it was a "trade", as in after I sent the $600 to him he sends me the M170 and in the same package he sends me the M170 in, I send him back my 9300. And yeah, scammers are pretty easy to spot on ebay, but the problem is the buyers. The first AND second (and I've only put it for sale twice) buyer that tried to get my 9300 were these "Nigeria senders", you might have heard of them. They offer a really high price for your item then send you fake reciepts and invoices from supposedly legitimate companies, then tell you to send it to the "client" in Nigeria somewhere. I was literally IN the post office about to send it away when I realized the name, address, phone and even area code seemed wierd (Obad Obida name, Obidija city, Nigeria country, 23402 zip, 234 area code phone number) so I went home and did some research and found out he was a total scammer. I saved myself from those 2 but the other guy seemed legitimate.
BUT I'll keep you up to date on how the trade is going, supposedly why I haven't been able to contact him is because his wife has been having a baby the past week in the hospital, so I need to call today according to the sitter or whoever it is. Plus his feedback was all really legitimate looking, it seemed to match his personality on the phone, he wanted to do paypal at first but for some reason my account didn't let me so we agreed to western union. I really don't know what to think of this guy right now, he might be legitimate and he might be a scammer, but I'll let you know
Thanks again chezouff, for everything you said

Cool... so you just paid him? And he hasnt officially scammed you, youre just a bit worried? Hmm.... well it seems legit to me i think. What did you sell the laptop on ebay? thats how I got my 9300 I bought a broken one on egay. But i paid all paypal for it. If the guy offered to paypal first im thinking he might be legit.... but then you did the Western-union method. But did you end the auction to accept his offer or did you go through ebay? Was there an auction?
Well keep me posted, let me know if jerk-off screws you over or what... maybe we'll load up the old pickup and go ride on this fool..... probably not... hes probably a bit too far to ride on..... i'll ride dirty on his ass. (no idea what that means)

If I had seen this sooner I'd have responded much sooner. Not only have I been on Ebay for years, I have been selling that long. Let me tell you this. Most fraudulent sellers will make some fake auctions and have their scamming partners bid and win that way they can get feedback. In turn, they need to pay fees to keep listing. Ebay is quickly becoming the worst place on the WWW to do business. You will get burned. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when. And when you do, you will see how well Ebay protects you. They are only interested in protecting their own asses. Good luck if you think Ebay cares. They only care about the money.
Ebay is a joke. Selling sucks because not only do you have to pay Ebay fees, but also Paypal fees. They are the same company, but you get charged twice. I no longer sell there because the amount they charge is ridiculous.

Have you also noticed that 90% of the time you can buy something new in a retail store for much less than what they are selling for? It has just gone so far downhill lately I don't see it as being a viable place to sell. I keep hoping Google will start a nice free auction site and put them in their place.

How much for the Pentium M? Still selling seperately?
**read your post, sorry to hear you lost it from that jerk. I would call the police or somebody to report theft. If you have his address, you can call to his areas police dept. and have them go to his house.

Google would have to improve on ebays business practices greatly(Not like thats hard, but still a lot fo work), as these scammers would just flood to their new service now that the "bugs" in the idea have been discovered.

I gotta say youre wrong, Ebay has helped people and sellers a lot. They take the approach they take because they have to be fair to all sides so many times people claim fraud when its not and ebay has to cover all their bases in regards to that. If you sell something to someone and they claim fraud ebay is on the buyers side...which isnt fun for sellers but its the necassary evil.
in regards to paypal. before paypal was associated with ebay they charged those fees. paypal does a lot more then just serve as ebays bank. i agree that the fees are outrageous to transfer money back and forth it really puts a dent in your profit but its the way it is, and i still make a good living buying and selling on it.

umm.... ive bought and sold over 300 items and never really had any problems, few hiccups here and there but never got ripped off for money. Ebay is just market place and mediator thats all. They dont control whats sold or not sold by people they can just mediate and catch the blatantly fraudulent auctions before theyre sold EVEN THEN they cant neccassarily stop the auctions because the seller might be legit..unless hes blatantly breaking a rule.
What youre saying is not true at all...youre not lucky if you get your item thats whats expected and 99% of the time is what happens. Youre lucky if you get a really good deal, which i have on more then one occassion gotten way more then 50% off the brand new retail price for something that someone didnt list right or not enough detail. Also ebay isnt just for brand new items to a lot of people its exclusively used items and collectables so thats a big purpose for it as well, its world wide and huge, tons of transactions all over the place.
