Upgrade decision

Should i get an Abit NF7-S v2 and OC my 2500+ to 3200+

Should i get a 9800 pro

It depends, are you a frequent user of computer games? If so are they GPU intensive ones? If they are upgrade to the 9800Pro. But if you don't play much computer games than just upgrade the motherboard.

The motherboard will probably cost half as much as the video card so technically you could buy more stuff. Just a side note.

Get the 9800Pro, it will more than double your gaming performance, bet OCing your proc won't get you more than a 20-25% of performance increase compared to 100% or more you could get by buying the 9800Pro, besides, if you're lucky you may be able to flash it to an XT ;)

Hey wazzle, remember what you post in the other section.. about the 9800Pros... maybe you wait a little longer and you can get both CPU/mobo and GFX card upgrade.. :D:D

I'm leaning towards what 15th suggested. The Vid card will give you the best jump in performance, get the performance increase now and it's not like you can't transfer the card after you get the new MOBO... if you're like me it's tuff saving, seems like something always comes up and I have to start from scratch ...

I will eventually get both, but am looking for best bang for my buck. Also the 9800 Pro will probably cost as much as the new mobo after xmas.

Even though there exists newer video cards, a 9800XT and AMD Athlon 3200+ seems like the holy grail of gaming :D

If you intend to buy after Christmas, then everything will probably drop in price because the stores will want to get rid of their stock.
