Sapphire is a well-known ATi partner, their graphic cards and motherboards are popular world-wide. Sapphire introduced the GTO2 line with their X800 boards, and now continues the tradition with the X1800GTO2. The GTO2 name is quite popular due to its price, overclocking, and for the high potential of unlocking extra pipelines.
It seems that Sapphire has shipped many X1800GTO2 units to world-wide shops already, price is around 230.00€.
Update: I've managed to find a picture of the card:

Time to unlock the extra pipelines now. :rockout:
Wait for X1900GTO2, then read my thread. LOL

Kinda hoping that's not entirely right, since I can already get a geniune X1800XT for 228€.
Wait for X1900GTO2
My thoughts exactly.

Two questions:
1) Any possibility of an AGP version of this?
2) Will this make the X800 GTOs cheaper?
I hope at least one of those can be answered with a 'yes' because I'm planning a graphics upgrade :D!

I can pretty much let you know right now that there wont be an AGP version.
If you want a kickass AGP card, get a 7800GS or X850.

Should only be about €180 I think, it only costs £125 in the UK.
Huh? What only costs £125?
I wouldnt be so sure that these unlock. Dont assume that they will.

So the 2 is simply there for marketing purposes. They must unlock to differnetiate them to x1800gto.

Sorry, I misread something - deleting the post. :toast:
Now that D_o_S posted a pic of the card, I'm really beginning to believe the card is unlockable.
Look, first it has the XT heatsink, and all of the XT mosfets are present.
I bet Sapphire took their remaining X1800XT's locked them up crappily and call it the X800GTO2.

Emmm I want one, or maybe 2 if they can run crossfire without a dongle. Wow that would be somthing 2 dongleless X1800XTs for the price of one X1900
