Hi all.
1) Does anyone know if Softmod ulocks the additional pipelines on a 9600SE 128MB? I know it doesnt work with 9600 coz there is nothing to open there in first place, but what about the SE version... 9600SE to 9600XT?
I've read the threads so far, and I get this weird feeling I am the only person out there with an SE version of 9600..
2) Has anyone tried doing that on a low profile 9600SE with a passive cooler only?
Any help will be appreciated.

9600SE dont have any pipes to unlock. There is no reason to risk a flash, just OC it and set 2d/3d profiles in ATITool.
Also you should probably get an active cooler for it (Fansink) here is a good one-

Cheers.
That's a bummer, the guy who sold it to me claimed it had half of it's pipelines locked, that's why it's SE. :(
Oh well.
Thanks for your help.

Well, use ATITool and check and see how many active pipes there are.
Do this by gooing into the settings

Did that, and this is one CRIPPLED card alright.
It's got RV350 chip, but a 64 bit bus and 4 active pipelines out of 4...
Which basically means that next time I should do some reading before buying a video card, instead of listening to the overclocking fairy tales the seller has to offer.
Thanks for your help.

The core should still be able to OC far.

Yeah, that's what I thought, but then I ran RivaTuner and it told me that my current (default!) memory clock freq of 202.5 mhz (at 324 core) is already beyond the safe overclocking range. I am not touching that thing.

Dont listen to rivantuner, just run "Find max mem" in ATITool
