It's amazing a person can sit in front of a computer for that long!! At the same time I'm thinking, OMG get a life! ;) But seriously, that games sounds like it's more addicting than EverCrack, er Quest. Yeah, I stay away from those games. Some of my buddies in the service played WoW and that's all they ever talked about... unbearable when working a 12 hour shift. These guys couldn't even keep a girlfriend because they would rather play WoW. One of them even talked his wife into playing the game and got her addicted too. So now they both go home, say hi, then spend the whole night playing... that's no way to live man. Computers/games should compliment your life, not become your life. So please, go outside, go fishing, go hunting, go hiking, go swimming, communicate with people in the real outside world... don't shut yourself indoors and live through your computer. I swear, I worry about some of you guys :)

^^ u totally have a point. I lost my WoW addiction b/c i have a gf, and i would give her my attention moreso than WoW. But i had a friend who was addicted; he took a yr off school. Played WoW like it was a full time job until he jus got too bored of it.

btw, taking a trip outside the country can help lose ur addiction, complement ur tip with a lot of booze and other social fun :toast:

Goldeneye: 007 for the N64 was the game that started the whole 3D thing and did it properly....so yeah this one I won't say is the best but rather most influential for todays gaming....IMO of course

That's the problem, games never truly satisfy, eventually you get bored with it. Then after spending all the time playing, what do you have to show for it? I hate to burst anyones bubble, but a Level 60 Druid doesn't mean $%#* to 95% of the people in the world. In order to continue the relentless pursuit of "the next level up", people isolate themselves to groups of friends who all agree, "this is important" and will give you respect for having a maxed out character. And then when the next game comes out, the cycle starts again. Don't let them feed you their expansion packs, and keep milking you for your money month after month, it's seriously a drug.

Wonderful Point...doesn't mean $hit like you said to the rest of the world....but in their own little world it means everything!! Halo 2 was my WoW equivalent so I could understand both sides of the spectrum, me and my ex had so many arguments about Halo 2, she would hide the game and I would go crazy trying to find it, and then we would fight about it because she wouldn't tell me where it was.....now that I look back, its soo soo sad...:shadedshu

I tried BF2. I thought it was okay, but only with lots of people. Call of Duty 2 the Germans die WAY too easily, the whole game is a mockery to WW2. And FEAR just looks scary...I hate that kind of game.

just like mark said If you dont want to start a flame war shut the fuck up... :slap: , those types of game are some of the best, they are very fun to play and you can spend hours playing it, graphics isn't everything, i prefer old versions of C&C than the new one (it sucks), Age of Empires 2 is a great game and is better than a lot of newer games, Theme Hospital is another great game, simfarm too, and the simcity series are great, old games are better than a lot of newer games, if you have doubts play then then say something

As for rpg711, I do have all those games, they just run like crap so I dont play them. FEAR and CoD2 are prime examples of game developers getting lazy with their optimizations.

As for great games, the list is looking good! One that I would add for console is Driver, the original. I think it really contributed games like the current incarnations of Grand Theft Auto and such. The graphics weren't good though, so please don't flame me RPG ;)
I think it shows someone's age to be quite young when they are stuck on graphics alone. Don't get me wrong, I drool over great graphics and love them to death... but, I think a lot of us who played ATARI/Nintendo, or early computer games (i.e. Oregon Trail, Sim City :eek: ) grew up with crappy graphics and have some very good memories of some of those games. If you think that only games with good graphics are fun to play, you are missing out! :) Try to respect other people opinions on stuff and attempt to understand them, vs flaming them because you don't get it. :(

as for the thing... he made it seem like me and pt were spamming lol and also, simcity series is the only GOOD game in my opinion other than graphic intence games like fear, cod2, bf2 (awesome game), and lots others... of course i can never give up starcraft!!!! You need to add Unreal Tournament 2004, Timesplitters: Future Perfect (for the PS2) and one new obvious one I'm suprised no one has mentioned (at least I don't think they have) Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Sorry if any of those have already been listed. :)

Edit: and a couple more big names: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and the Red Alert series.

Even though it doesn't come out until tomorrow and I have only played the demo, I was more blown away by the first 30 minutes of this game than by any other I have ever played (and that's saying something): Prey.

No doubt about it, will be an uber *$%&#$($% favorite, I can't even imagine the multi-player potential that this game has, it's undescribably brilliant, twisted and total thrill to play. If you a decent graphics card, download the demo. If you love FPS's, you won't be sorry. (eww... sorry if that sounded like a canned announcement :D )
