Why don't you go AM2 instead of 939?

939 is cheaper and basically the same, just uses DDR.

Like $5 cheaper...most processors are the same price. And AM2 will be able to use AM3 processors...

Also you should not get the x1600 because to many people are having problems with them

Everything you listed is fine, but you should go AM2. So, get the same processor in AM2, the board you suggested is fine. DDR2 memory, DDR2 800 is best, and a 7600GT or X1800GTO would be better than that X1600, and if it's too much, I would go with an X850XT. Besides that, it's all good.

Also for a hard drive, get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144701
It has a 16mb cache instead of 8mb.

um how exactly do u guys plan on him buying a s939 mobo and a am2 cpu? there are very few crossfire am2 mobos currently and the few that are cost alot. i would just go s939 and crossfire. get a x1800gto or xt. the extra money spent will be well worth it.

What are you talking about? He's getting AM2 now. AM2 processor, AM2 motherboard, DDR2...

"future-proofing" ur build would, imo, go with am2 mobo, get something slightly better than x1600, like Azn Tr14dZ sed.

Also a dual core proccessor.

hmm well personally once i build a comp i get a solid cpu and then just upgrade ram and video cards....and sorry i didnt see the new mobo selection. i still would get the s939 as current ddr is just as fast as ddr2 and crossfire is better then sli still...
