Why is ATITool broadcasting when starting up?

Do you mean it is maintaining connections on IP?
(Does it have a built-in search for updates type of functionality in it? That WOULD/COULD do it, assuming I am getting your meaning here that is).
Tools you have in netstat &/or nbtstat can tell you more (shows endpoints local & remote of any connections on IP (netstat) by process, & on LAN's typically using Microsoft's NetBIOS related networking (nbtstat)).
netstat -ano OR netstat -an (depending on OS version used, switches vary here)
&
nbtstat (-s or -S iirc is the switch to use here)
:)
(/? on either gets you ALL of their commandline switchwork too...)
* Hope that helps in determining your issue/questions...

P.S.=> Gotta go, it's time to switch from cable to DSL here today... apk

Thanks for the response, yes, I ment over IP. It's possible to manually check for updates, but there's no option for autocheck. I also noticed it does this check only periodically when autostarted with Windhose register. Next time I will look more closer to the log files of my firewall.

...mmm, a bit stupid, but I mixed ATITools up with ATI Tray Tools... Could either one please change their productname, it has been mixed up for years by many people I reckon, lol
