Which vid card?

I recently bought a new VisionTek 9600XT (actually bought sapphire oem but they sent visiontek retail). I have two primary problems with this card:

1) The fan is noisy as hell, its by far he noisiest thing in my computer. No fan control to quiet it down, I need thsi.

2) The dual monitor function is very shady. DVI out does not function until windows loads. The whole thing flickers all the time too during boot. My old nVidia card didn't do any of these irritating things.

I think I'd like to switch back to a nVidia card. I do very little gaming (2 hours a month max lol). And even at that, Counter Strike is the only game I own.

Can anyone recommend a good vid card for me? I am looking to spend around $100-120. Must have DVI+DSUB outs for dual monitor, have a temp controlled fan, and be quiet. :D

Get a FX5200, cheap and fine for counterstrike

I do have to say though that a FX5200 will be a downgrade from your card. A FX5700 or 5750 is closer.

a 9100 is better... from personal experience.. or a good 9550 =)

In that case, he can even get a Radeon 8500. My friend's BUILT BY ATI (actually Sapphire builds them) Radeon 8500 showcased TRUFORM in the form of an OEM copy of Counter-Strike. It also has the usual array of DSub+Composite Video+DVI-I (no S-Video this time around).

A FX5700LE should be fine since most of them use passive heatsinks. Or just re-use your old card if possible.
