Hey guys,

My rig #2 (in my sig.) has a piece of hardware that has to be RMA'ed.
My question is I do not have to time to figure it out with work and all so I was wondering if I could take it anywhere that would look at it and find it for me?

The problem was that when I turn on the computer the HD, DVD, and CD RW does not work at all. I also get not video when it is turned on.

Thanks

Lots of places will do an inspection of your system (sometimes free or charge a nominal fee - like $30). Look up local shops in your area and make a few calls. As long as there are some local shops around you should be able to find one. Like I said sometimes they'll do it for free.

I think places like FutureShop, BestBuy, Circuit City will also look your system over for problems - they most definetely would charge for this I'd guess.

It's your power supply.

I thought so too, but is there a way I could test to be certain?
I hope it is either the PSU or GPU, I dont want it to be the mobo or proc since it will be a pain in the ass to take out.

Take a paperclip and stick stock it in the PSU connector and connect the green wire with a black wire. This will trigger the psu to turn on. Have the psu connected to your cd drive, and if the cd drive doesnt open when you push the button, it is your PSU.

instead of a CD drive it might be easier to just use a fan.
