I actually knew a guy who posted as "Ron Jeremy" online in various forums thru the late 90's to now!

I never did inquire w/ him if he WAS actually "the man, the myth, the legend" himself though!

Doubt it, but... you never know!

I figure it this way - most famous folks are human beings too, & can doubtless afford PC technology due to their fame (which leads to fortunes & all that 9/10 times if the person's smart + lucky), & they probably hit forums too, @ least for techno advice (I would, they help a great deal in getting the MOST out of what you have & just to learn etc. & converse with others @ the very least).

It makes SENSE for guys like J.C. to hang out here online - it is WHERE we all "live & breathe" & learn from one another!

However, what about "stars" from areas like film, music, etc. et al!

For instance - I KNOW that Wil Wheaton (film & Star Trek sitcom star) talks @ Slashdot here & there, he "let's it hang out" & is an exception to a rule imo!

AND, (Edit part) I know that Asia Carerra (a female pr0n star) is a gamer... this much I am certain of, & I have seen her talk on some gamer's forums & was a centerpiece of a gaming forum's interviews in the past & such, in fact.

However? I can see other famous folks hiding who they are online, so they can be treated JUST LIKE ANY OTHER PERSON is normally!

Just because I can see being "hounded" by others being a REAL PAIN (ala paparazzi/press types), if not eventually... even if folks mean well, it could be to be a nuisance! apk

I know what you mean Alec i was playing UT online a long time a go (GOTY Ed.) qand i was playing on a server were i was getting owned and one of the players was cliffy B however i do know know that he stopped playing under that name or maybe in general because of posers but i never knew if it was him. he was really good though.

Aha! Got ya now... Heh, I have the original game (Unreal AND UT in fact), very fast performer in the latter imo, even on systems from YEARS ago!

(Yup, figures: I was not a "HUGE FAN" of it even though I played both... I have been a 'fanboy' to a good extent on IDSoftware stuff (been into them since they did work for Apogee on Wolf3D is why, that was revolutionary & afaik? The VERY FIRST "FPS" type game!))
