You can give posts rep, either negative or positive
Now pos would add rep points, neg subtract obviously

And a bar with green or red boxes show up under the name
Kinda like the star system, but this way we have something solid to back it up instead of just whoring posts

and if neg rep falls under a certain number, then it's autoban :)
EDIT: The amount of "rep" one would give or take depends on the amount he has.

It will bring the credibility of the forum way up, that way people like RPG get banned after their rep points fall below a certain mark oh yeah, and the green boxes would be just as big as a normal "o" except square, check out that site to see what I'm talking about PLEASE

this forum its not for the sheep-masses (like playstation owners) who attend a pacticular forum because they are scaried to go outside, because actual reality would kill them.

As for the autoban and rep feature, lame. Look at how the voting goes on peoples p00ters in the Gallery, all the idiots and Dell owners low rate the shit hot custom rigs and decent p00ters, so just think what would happen with Rep/Karma for posters, doesn't take all of NASA to work out how badly it would go and how fast it would be before things went pear shaped.

People in the negatives wouldn't do squat if they gave negtive rep
New person giving neg rep might just -1 point.... someone w/ 500rep points will -20 points... someone with 1 rep point will give no rep if he or she decides to do neg rep or positive rep... basically all the mods should have all the rep points first and then give it out to whoever they think deserves it and by giving it out it means they trust them to give it out the right way. Since now whoever the staff gave rep to can now give rep :)

I personally like the REP feature.. While it can be massivly abused (can you say autoban again?) I think if we managed to get the active posters in this forum, people would be more inclined to follow their advise, as they may be a known "expert" rather than some random person spamming OMG YOU NOOBZ BUY THIS ULTRA PSU CUZ ITS $5 AND RATED THE SAME YOUZ IDIOTZZ

I think if we managed to get the active posters in this forum, people would be more inclined to follow their advise, as they may be a known "expert" rather than some random person spamming OMG YOU NOOBZ BUY THIS ULTRA PSU CUZ ITS $5 AND RATED THE SAME YOUZ IDIOTZZ
Any expert could be acknowledged as such by the current staff via a deserved/earned custom title, much less hassle and less scope for abuse to be honest. & these mod things usually either slow the forum down a bit, create major pains in the arse come update time or annoy more people than please in my experience.

we have it over @ HWA, and it hasnt caused any problems, but then again, its also a forum closed to new members (we have ~550-560 members)
