Ever since Intel released word of their new quad cores, Kentsfield and Clovertown, Intel has stated that they will have a 1066 MHz FSB. TheINQ received confirmation from management that Intel is attempting 1333 MHz FSB. It looks like they are going to attempt 1333 MHz FSB, but if Intel Can not get that they can fall back to their initial Official claims of 1066 MHz FSB.

Intel appears to be going "ALL-OUT" & is NOT pulling any punches here to take down AMD as #1...

I, for one, am looking forward to folks here picking up various builds of the Intel CONROE series of CPU, just to see what they can do on game tests, Folding@Home, & other synthetic benchmark tests (like ScienceMark 2.0, 3dmark &/or PCMark).

so if its a 1333 bus speed doesnt that make all the 1066 boards effectively out of date when these cpus are released? thats the main problem with intel the change specs way too quickly

If im not mistaken, the current Xeons run 1333 bus, so i assume you could use Xeon motherboards, or revisions of other motherboards?

Conroe is already out, though distribution is limited. Intel would be so much better off if they just moved to HyperTransport.
