View Full Version : Which is the best stock VGA cooling solution?

Was wondering which VGA card has the best cooling solution? Specificly the NV 7600GT. Most of the stock cooling solution seems the same. I like the cooling solution form HIS but they only produce ATI VGA cards. And they arent many CrossFire motherboard with SB600 out there. So i figure i go with SLI instead. Anyway a brand called EVERTOP from Korea seems to have decent cooling solution since they use the ZAlman VF900 and VF700 but no where seems to be selling them online and where i am from. So was wondering if there is any other VGA brand that comes with a good cooling solution that do not need upgrading.

I know Sapphire creates ATi cards with zalman coolers but Sapphire doesnt make any nvidia cards. I think the only option you have is buy a card and buy a seperate cooler and put that on. (Keep the old one for RMA).
Changing a cooler on a VGA card isnt that hard. I was afraid of it to at first. You should check my casemod log blue ruby.

If you're looking for a 7600GT with a good stock cooler, here it is:

Don't know where you're from though, but just wanted to let you know it's from Gigabyte.

Yea all the Nvidia ones seems to be the same stock coolers.
But if you arent going to overclock you might wanna check out XFX and EVGA since they usually have the highest clocked speeds avail.
Your best bet on a different cooling solution is by buying a zalman and just putting it on urself.
Just out of curiousity why are you looking for this....Are you going to OC?

Pre-overclocked cards are bad...the reason why they're pre-overclocked is because they can't reach any higher speeds. Get something with reference speeds, and the Gigabyte 7600GT I showed you had a beast cooler!

there are some 7900gt's with a heatsink that covers the mem too

the first one is new i thikn, and the bottom one is the one i was thinking of
i don't think they have the liquid cooled ones like sapphire toxic or whatever it is

Yea thats why I wanted to check if he wanted to OC or not.
I dont OC so thats why I usually go for XFX or EVGA (plus their lifetime and double lifetime warranties help too lol).
That is a pretty hot cooler, but (for me at least), I dont like Gigabyte since they dont have a good reputation with me.

Mustang, too bad he's looking for a 7600GT, not 7900GT:p

damnit, i checked to see if anyone had listed the evga 7900gt, and they hadn't, so i thought, hell yea! i can add something
doh
but that second link is a damn good price for a 7900gt, and for only 30$ more (not including rebates, 50$ with rebates) that's quite a bit of a performance increase.
but, if you want to oc it and voltmod it, an aftermarket cooler is definitely in order. even good stock coolers for ati cards aren't as good as some of the other ones with AS5
imo, at least

The stock X1900XT/X coolers are better than the Zalman and AC coolers, but louder.

The Gainward 7600GT Golden Sample (not the warm liquid that runs down yer leg after too many beers) is a good card and already overclocked, because of this it comes with their own branded but improved cooler, I had one on an old 5950Ultra and it was good and whilst that card too was overclocked I still got another 125Mhz on the core and 180 on the memory with no heat issues.

That not true man, not in the case of the board I have @ least:
That'd be the BFG 7900 GTX OC!
I.E. -> I am able to reach even HIGHER than their stock/oem default rate, which is already o/c'd over normal ones!
Quite a BIT higher in fact... defaults are 670/820, & I hit:
E.G.-> 687/865
(Via coolbits.reg... & VERY stable!)
:)
* And, as far as heatsink/fan combo on it? Excellent too!
It's a "phase-change" cooling (technically speaking, in the STRICTEST sense because matter is changing state from liquid to gas @ the event-horizon/interface/point of contact w/ CPU heat) w/ a fan & HUGE heatsink + quad-heatpipe system!

No i do not plan to OC. At least not at the moment. As I am staying near the equator it gets very very hot here. And i have seen my friends Leadtek 7600GT the card get quite hot and the fan sound is kind of anoying. On the other hand my other friend has a HIS X1600XT CrossFire set up the temp is alot lower and quiter too. From what i read here 7600GT is a better card compared to 1600XT and there seems to be very few AM2 motherboard with CrossFire out there so i am thinking of going for NV sli here. So what i am looking for is a 7600GT with a good stock cooler somthing like what HIS has. Anyway is the MSI and eVGA 7600GT cooler effective and is it lound? It looks kind of cool in the picture with copper heatsink tha cover the memory as well.

Check out the ECS KA3 MVP (1.0a) -- a pretty decent board (minus the fruity colors..) that has a Crossfire 3200 chipset and SB600 south bridge. I dont know what you've done so far part wise if you have anything, but if you wait till next wednesday I'll have my new computer up and running and I can tell you how well the board works out and any other questions about it.

Ya i know about ECS KA3 MVP but the color looks funny to me and most of all only 1 slot between the PCI Express slot. I prefer those with 2 slot between the PCI Express slot. I am waiting for ASUS M2R32-MVP DELUXE and MSI K9A Platinum. Must know the price 1st cos i will go for which ever that have better value for money. By the way this is the list of upcoming motherboard with CrossFire 3200 Xpress and SB600.
