hi guys!

is my ATI 9250 128 mb overclockable?, i really hate it's performance on
NFS most wanted, doom,BFME, so is it able to be overclocked?, im using Omega drivers really,
and it has its ATI tray tools,so i havent overclocked it yet, i saw its Fps on most wanted, its 40 or below, i wonder if what is its maximum clock settings there?

ECS p4m800-m7

Your computer is a bit old, so don't except to play the latest games with it, only at low graphics quality, does the GFX card has active cooling?
Just download AtiTool and click max core, and max memory and see the max you can get, it is a old card but if you plan to overclock i would recomend to get a new cooler

R 9250 128mb but the memory banwidth 64bit

you can OC it but it wont gain signifficant performance and FPS...

upgrade your gpu to 6200 (128 bit) its overclockable and you can unlock its pipelines...

6200 doesn't come with a 128 bit bus in AGP flavor last time I checked...I'd reccomend getting an X1300AGP. It's like a 9800Pro wth SM3, HDR, and performance gains in the latest games :). But either way, a 9250 is NOT going to cut it in most games.

the X1300PRO is no where near the 9800PRO. (X1300PRO 128bit, 9800PRO 256bit).

I've just been through this whole crap, if you want amazing graphics proformance you need a 256bit graphics card, 128bit just dont cut it.

So the choices you are left with are:

ATI 9800PRO
ATI X800
ATI X850 or
nVidia 6800LE

Myself I would get a 6800LE or a 9800PRO. amazing gaming performance from both (@ budget prices), and a full fat 256bit memory bus, which you are gonna need with all the games from the last year onwards.

just got a 6800LE myself and unlocked all the pipelines and i can play 99% of my games with full effects at 1024x768, so im very happy.

P.S. NFS MW looks amazing with all the effects on with my 6800LE

Yup, 9800 Pros can still cut the mustard. HL2 EP1 with HDR n screen res of 1152 x 864.

Iv just found it mine has a R360 core so flashed it with a XT bios from a 128MB Xt card with same memory.

My rigs for sale if any one is interested, see for sale forum.
The 9800 XTs still sell for allot, and so do the 9800 Pros, try getting a 256MB version if you can, thats the only problem i find, even tho the compression ratios they can handle are very good.

btw, did anyone ask if he has the money to buy a new GFX card, instead of poping out cards he can/can't buy?

no,not at all, so ATI tray tools will do no good? on overclocking?

I had a 9250 about a year ago, the max i got it to was around 290 core and 240 memory, but it only gave me 5fps on avg.

the problem is that is has a 64bit memory bus, which is just to slow for most games.

so the answer to your question, overclocking this card will not help if you are play DX9 games as it just doesnt have the power to cope with the on screen visuals that you require.

the only answer is to upgrade your card if you can afford it, see below for some examples:-

also to save cash, you can always go for a clearance item or b-grade item

Warning:
Someone incorrectly listed the PVT42KVDE3 version as 256-bit, and it's not. You want the PVT42KUDE3 version, here:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150157
incase u didnt know 128 bit = half the bandwidth between GPU and RAM as a 126-bit video card.
