OK I have a His x1600pro AGP 512meg, when I reach 570 it locks up totally very quickly. I've heard all over the net were people did over 100mhz oc(A 100 is were I want to set it at). So I'm thinking I need to change the voltage on it. I was told that ATi tool had this setting in it for software but I can't find it anywhere. Also wants I do the software voltage change how do I flash that on to the card. Rabbit doesn't have this editing tool with-en side it.

HELP

Are you sure other people were getting 100Mhz o/c with the 512mb version and AGP version?

The voltage control for ATI Tool is for X1800 and X1900 Series.

the 512Mb version has slower memory than the 256Mb version which causes core lock ups

No. Core lock ups are caused by the core being clocked too fast smart one.

yes it does. i was advised of this before purchasing my X1600PRO by guys on this forum who had the same problem that his guy is having.

yes, you guys told me to get the 256Mb, because of faster memory and overclockablity.

256Mb is better, because there is no use for 512Mb yet...yet...and on some graphics intensive games, 512Mb is a few FPS slower than 256Mb because of the latencies between the memory chips.

true. well the x1600pros just plain suck. some chips will do a 150mhz oc and some will do a 5mhz oc. its all across the board. the only way to up the volts is a voltmod which is very risky on x1600's due to heat.

X1600XT's aren't that bad though...

other then the cores are massivly speedbinned and overvolted stock. my buddy has a 256mb agp pro and it runs like 85c load. the cooler on it sucks. most pros will do xt core speeds but the memory is almost twice as fast.

The voltage control for ATI Tool is for X1800 and X1900 Series.Yep on stick coolers that's why this boggled me. I finally found out that that part was left out of ATi tool. I flashed it 50 over with rabbit, I thought about changing the memory latency too(any software I could use to test different speeds), but I'm scared I'll post black screen.

Also I was told it would be a bad idea to flashed it with power color OC bios, because volts between parts on different vendors very. I can't find that Bios anyhow/
