well i wanted to know after i take off the stock fan , do i need to clean the ram and core with alcohol? or with soap and water?

Isopropyl Alcohol, 99% best, at least 70%. You have to clean the residue paste off of the core. I just left my memory alone. But then again, the stock cooler didn't touch my memory.

Alcohol? Make sure it's at least 70%, and I've heard that 90% or better is what you should be using (and make sure it dries off all the way before putting the silencer on). Soap and water? If you want to kill your card, go ahead. Water + Electronics is ALWAYS bad, with an exception to liquid cooling. Personally, I reccomend nail polish remover and Q tips. If you're too manly to go into a nail polish store, then buy yourself some acetone (that's what you're looking for).

Drug stores should carry it...I use 70% and it's all good.

Most probably. If you only find 70%, that'll do fine.

Yeah, quite a few. But as long as it's 70% or higher it's good. I at first was worried because I had 70%, but it didn't matter much at all. Higher % just cleans slightly better and leaves less residue, but if you clean well, it shouldn't matter.

Walgreens carries the 99% stuff, at least it does down here in Huntsville. If nothing else, Artic Silver makes a thermal residue remove called Articlean. Smells good (like Oranges!) and works like a charm. ALOT!!!!! less effort for us lazy folks. Its probably like 6 bucks (I got mine for 4.95 from a guy in Athens AL) and the best stuff out there (opinion).

well i got some from walgreen for $1.69 91% and i already put it on it at idles at 35 close to stock but at load high 50,51 at 450core 550mem say thats way better then sotck at highs :D

Good temp change as well... mine did pretty much the same, but my speeds are a bit lower.

YEA IT'S A R430.. I GOT MINE AT 450CORE 558MEM AT 46-49 WITH THE FUZZY DICE WHEN THE A/C ON IN THE ROOM
