I have recieved the new memory modules for my new system, and it struck me that the two modules have different colored PCB's. One of them is green, and the other is black. I guess I just didn't notice this in the picture. But whats also odd, is that in the second photo it shows two green pcb modules.

Anyone have any idea if this has nothing to do with how the memory will perform, or does it have implications to a possible order that the ram should be installed in (black first, green second vis versa etc). I figure I'm just going to be throwing these modules in and everything will work, but the only dumb questions are the ones not answered.

i think you mean asked....
and that's a great quote that's i've never heard. did you make it up?
back to topic: so you're wondering if the ones you'll get are different colored maybe? i don't think they will be, because in the package shot it shows two identical ones, where there prolly couldn't be a mix up, whereas the open ram shot is the variant. i don't think there is an order to ram, because the two sticks should virtually identical (that's not a pun, only one meaning, in the virtual realm/digital/your pc) so as to run in dual channel
in other words, i think they are prolly the same color, the first pic is whack, and it doesnt' matter which stick you install first, only sometimes where you put it first (mobo determined).
but that's just from my experience

Thats what I figured, I was just wondering if anyone thought otherwise. And about the quote, I believe I heard it from a teacher, but I think it has older roots somewhere.
If you're talking about this quote: "but the only dumb questions are the ones not answered.", i think it came from a greek philosopher

PCB wont make any difference unless its perhaps maybe brainpower Vs regular generic PCB.
My bet: NO difference. Ive used black and green mushkin sticks, with no noticable difference. PCB is just cosmetic. Unless the traces are routed different, they should be identical.
