hey ive been wanting to overlock my amd 3800 x2 cpu for quite some time, and i thought i would go far it. i will be getting the Tt Big typhoon very soon, and would like to overlock my cpu as much as possible being stable. ive fiddled around with some setting in bios, and the only way i can overlock my cpu is unlocking the bios profiel to overclocking, and overclocking by a percentage. it goes up to a 30% increase in the bios, and selecting 10% my cpu went from 2000Mhz to 2212Mhz. should i overclock my cpu by using this option in bios or a windows interface program? and should i change my fsb at all? but i do not see an option in bios to do so. thx for any help!

BIOS is the best way to overclock...period. It gives you all of the options(voltage, multiplier) you need to overclock a CPU. Software overclocking won't get you far, compared to the BIOS.

ok i now know to use bios, but nowhere in the bios do i see that u can change the fsb multiplier or voltage. the only way i can overclock is by a percentage 3%,5%,10%,15%,ect.
and by increasing the percenatge the MHZ is also increased

put the overclock to manual, and not ASUS n.o.s. or something like that

i'm looking to overclock my x2 also in the near future.

unfortunatley, can't really muss with the multipliers tho.

thinking of bringing it up to 240, mult 10x, for 2.4ghz. then ram divider to 166 so ram stays around 200mhz (if my math is right).

i still have to look at my htt mult, just to make sure the htt bus stays around 1000.

sound doable?
