so i have a x800gto (powercolor) and i was wondering what is the best catalist drivers to have? for games like fear and oblivion cause i heard some of them dont mesh well with these games
any info would help currently the cd drivers are CCC 5.14

The newest ones are generally the best, at least they have been for me.
they are currently at 6.7, fyi, so i would update asap

Is it just me that are totally UNABLE to run CCC? I have reformated, reinstalled Windows (XP), tried everything, but it DON't work. I hate CCC. :(

6.4 at the better version 6 drivers, most seam to have better benchmarks with these drivers than the newer ones, 6.5 to 6.7 just seam to be way too buggy for most

I personally use ATT (ATI Tray Tools) through the Omega drives. Excellent drivers that deliver great performance while supplying easy-to-use utilities for monitoring and overclocking. So if CCC gives you to much hassle, switch over to Omega drivers and give them a try.

It sounds like you hate CCC almost as much as I do. Good news: you can download the Catalyst 6.7 drivers bundled w/ the older-style ATI Control Panel here:
