honestly? Sell your AGP card, what it sells for should be more than enough to get a 6800GT PCI-E at least. Your just throwing money away on that imo. 939 boards are cheap now, AGP is dead and sadly AM2 got released, try to let go of as much past tech as u can, that way you wont have to worry about AM2, just upgrade to AM3 when its out :D

its a solid board. not a bad overclocker either with vmods. if u want to keep your current ram ect just get this board and a 3000/3200/3500. you should be set for a while.

The motherboard won't give you much really... And the socket between 939 and 754 are incompatible. So you would have to change CPU also. And if your memory isn't a dual kit, then you'll HAVE TO change the memory. Basically it's not a $$$ sensitive choice. The real gain you could make would be to change to either AM2, or get a Conroe system altogether.

For the AM2, you'll have access later on in time to a much more powerful CPU which is compatible AM2 / AM3 + PCIe GFX card + DDR2. On the Conroe, you're looking at pretty insane overclocking and ABOVE CURRENT AMD performance.

I have two ASRock 939 Dual Sata-2s, 3200 and 3500 Venice, AIW 9600 XT and X850 Pro both AGP a Gig of Ram each. We love ours, I am upgrading to 2 gig Ram and a X2 4400. I think this is a great board. you can use a PCI-e at the same time or by itself when you upgrade the Video card. Uli chipset is as good as my Asus A8N-E which has NF4 Ultra. 939 is not dead yet, this is a good value board.

Now all i need to decide on is wether to go with a am2 3800+ single core or go for an am2 dual core 3800+ any ideas

Boneface that is a pretty good board, I have 939 ASUS with the same 6150 onboard graphics and they are pretty good, I dont think better than what you have now.

I have just ordered a X2 CPU, it willl be here tomorrow. Everybody seems to think it is the way to go, I am not so sure, but I had the opportunity.....

i was going to go dual but i just found out that my psu is 20 pin and not 24 so now i have to put the extra cash towards that instead of the dualcore and just go with the single core am2 3800...better then my s754 anyway which i am now selling...lol...if i dont ill just take out the gfs 64 2800+ and give her my 3200+
