Asus P5W DH DELUXE, Intel "BadAxe D975XBX, or DFI Infinity 975X?

I hear they are all amazing boards. The Asus has ALOT of features, so I'm thinking im going to go with that, but does it overclock well?

I'm looking for 4 things in a motherboard, one of which isnt necessary, but preferred.

1. Stable voltages
2. Alot of SATA 3.0GB Connectors
3. High overclockability
4. Crossfire support(preferred but not necessary.

I was pretty much decided on the DFI, but then re-read ASUS's specs, and I like its features, and the Intel is supposedly an amazing board, with very easy mods for it.

IM STUCK!!

Money is not an issue on the motherboard, I'll spend up to $350 on a motherboard, I want the best board overall.

Or another thing to toss into the mix...

Should I wait for the RD600 Chipset? I dont even know if there will be one!

if ocing is in your battleplan, the dfi will make life easier with all its bios options.

Im going to wait for the poll to pick up a few votes, and then die down, and I'll make my choice.

I heard DFI is great for OCing, my friend has a DFI Lanparty UT2 for his Opteron 165.. got it to 2.76GHz.

I'll wait for more opinions.

(too bad they didn't have DFI for AM2 when i bought my ASUS, i would go for it)

the best for overclocking is clearly the gigabyte 965P, but otherwise go with the ASUS, just cuz its a DFI doesnt mean its a DFI lanparty.

965P doesnt have full conroe support, and its not a top of the line chipset..


The 965P boards are having issues with the 9x+ multi's and 4mb cache(i.e. E6600 n up). By issues, I mean that the same E6600 will usually clock about 100-200MHz higher on a 975X with similar voltage.

the FSB can be setup all the way to 600, and many ppl have gotten it up or past 550. dont take one thing u found on another forum, and assume its correct especially on every single other board. also check out xtremesystems, alot of ppl have been using the gigabyte board and they all say it gets the highest FSB. u can do u wat u want but if u want the best ocing board the gigabyte is surely the one.

Yeah, i know a guy from XS with one of those gigabyte 965 DS4 boards... it overclocks insanely. They're cheaper than the asus board anyway :D

I'm usually 100% asus, but in this case they aren't where the performance lies.

review of 8 mobo's, including the DQ6, says that the Asus is the clear overclock winner.

leaning towards the asus..... but then swaying towards dfi because my friends is a stable ocing, feature filled BIOS work horse...

80% on asus now.. read 2 more reviews and they got it to 500MHz FSB

No way in hell I can ever get an E6600 to 500MHz FSB..

500x9 = 4500.. rofl..

maybe on watercooling.. but if the cpu can handle that. I got a B2 Stepping.. good OC'er?
