HL2 issues.....

So, playing HL2, getting to the end of the episode called "we don't go to rakenholom" or whatever the city name is. i've killed all the zombie creatures, and i met up with the crazy preist dude with the shotgun.

and now i'm stuck. i'm sitting in front of this door-looking thingy set into the side of a mountain, theres some gas tanks on the side, and a grave thingy. the preist dude is sitting there, hand on a lever to open a gate or something. no zombies. and he keeps on saying "onward! to the mines! hurry!" and stuff.

but the door, if it is a door, isn't opening.

There's a gate you have to go over or under. IIRC he lifts a chain link fence up halfway that you have to go under. I'll load the thing and try to get a screenie.

Here (http://screenshot.xfire.com/screenshots/wtf8269). It's pretty obvious. I just loaded the level and he is lifting up a chain link fence just like I said. So either you're getting a glitch, or I'm misunderstanding the part of Ravenholm that you're in.

If it's a glitch, you'll need to load the beginning of the level again. Type "changelevel d1_town_04" in console to start over the 2nd to last part of Ravenholm. It may be _05 instead of _04, I can't quite remember evethough I just did it lol. But try _04 first. Hope this helps. Happy gaming.:)

*sigh* yes you are in exactly the right part. he just stands there yelling at me. no gate action!

do you know if after thats the last part of that episode? maybe i'll just unlock the next one and start from there.

_05 would be the next one. I would recomend just reloading _04 though. Then again, I'm not one for missing any second of the game. I keep playing this game over and over again looking for the G-Man and other secrets and stuff.
