Hi Everyone,

I realize this subject has been addressed many times but I'm having a hard time finding a specific potential issue. First, I've built many new computers and have never been concerned with cleaning the heat spreader on a New CPU before installing the heat sink. Do manufactures generally ship CPU's with clean heat spreaders? Many places on the web discuss the cleaning requirements for CPU and Heat sinks which have old TIM. However, I'm curious if cleaning the surface of the heat spreader of a New CPU heat is necessary (I remove the CPU straight out of the box and immediately install the Heat sink so ambient contamination is minimal). Also, I'm always careful not to touch the surface which would place oils on the heat spreader. I realize that it is easy to clean the CPU heat spreader as a precaution even when new; but, since I have many systems built with out this step; I would like to know if this is an issue. I appreciate your efforts.
