well, took the p[lunge today and bought the E6600. Kind of pricey going with Intel considereing when the original build was going to be an AM2 platform. I like AMD and I feel like a traitor. but the facts are facts. These new chips by intel are vastly superior and even when the new AMD's hit the market I'm sure the price will be through the roof. I'm mquite positive that this CPU coupled with the anticipated 590 SLI Intel Edition motherboard, I shoulkd have a pretty kick-a^s computer.

Actually, that's a LOT less than I tought! Man, that's some great deal actually, considering this CPU can be clocked to 4ghz and perform superPI 1M twice at a time in 12 seconds

Watchu gonna do with the AMD system? I'm a nut for redundancy. I have 2 TV's.One for watching cable and DVD's. The other for is stictly for gaming, X-box etc. this one will prbably be the internet cruiser or at least the one I can communicate with you guy's with in case I do something to screw the soon to be built gaming rig up while fiddling around with it. Lol:) The new build will be strictly a gamer.

Have you considered these motherboards (http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2822) for your new system?

Have you considered these motherboards (http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2822) for your new system? I was thinking about that Asus P5NSLI 570 Intel Ed mobo. The only thing is it supports the ddr667 instead of ddr800 memory.:shadedshu
