According to HKEPC, NVIDIA is about to release a product probably named Geforce 7900GTO, to cover the European OEM market. The new graphics card will be similar to GeForce 7900GTX, not only in appearance, but also the specifications. It will be based on the NVIDIA G71 core clocked at 650MHz, owning 24 Pixel Shader pineline, 16 ROP and 8 Vertex Shader engine plus the same dual slot heatsink as the GeForce 7900GTX. The only difference comes with clock speed of the memory, which is now 1.38GHz. Memory size of 512MB with 1.4ns GDDR3 memory modules used stays unchanged. There is no information whether this card would appear in the retail market or not. There's also no official price announced.

id rather go for the ati option myself but id rather everyone boycott everything based on older technology to force these companies to release their advance now father than funding them to keep redesigning older spec products

I think they're riding the success of x800GTO. Anyhow, it seems to be kinda cheap.. Interesting.

I wonder if you can use the card in SLI with a normal 7900GTX or maybe flash the bios with a 7900GTX bios? would be sweet...and just the excuse I need to grab one for SLI...

cheers

Now available at dabs.com for all you UK buyers at the incredible price of £158.89 inclusive of VAT, a friend just got one for Novatech, he paid £192, got it yesterday and is running it at 700/1890 and it flies!!!!!!! This has just got to be the best "bang for buck" NVidia have ever delivered, less than a 7900GT in price, 25% more performance, damn it bests a 1900xt and is near on an XTX.

And to put it in real perspective when talking ATi language, a 1900GT or 1800GTO2 are gonna cost around the same I would think.
