Non volt modded I can get to 590/620 stable......I run It at 585/610 on a daily basis.

HIS X850XT Flashed to PE.

X850's are fast enough without overclock, if it aint fast enough for you get a X1900XTX or a X1950XTX

645/670

Technically it's an x800gto2, but it was the old revision, which is identicle in every way to the x850xt, just with a different cooler on it.

It's voltmodded, with an Arctic cooling Silencer 5 rev.2

what kind of mem does an x850xt use? (like what ns)

(from what ive been told, my x800 has 1.6ns and i can get that up to 540/600...non-voltmodded (i dnt trust myself :p) lol)

Why not ATITool anymore?......... What do you use then?

Most x800 series cards use 2.0ns memory, except the Sapphire x800gto2's (r480 version). The 2.0ns memory is rated by Samsung for 550mhz, and the 1.6ns memory used in x850 series cards is rated for 600mhz. As you can see by my overclock, 1.6ns memory can go much further than 600mhz with a slight increase in voltage ;) I also had a Club3d x800xl a long time ago, and managed to push the 2.0ns memory to 610mhz with a slight voltage modification. Shame the R430 core limited performance so much :(

so what mem do you think i have? ive been told 1.6 cus the 2.0 timings i used got me artifacts. Also, i can push the memory further than 600, its just when i push the core up anymore, it crashes :p

i belive from any reputable manufacturer you should have 1.6ns samsung chips, currently i've got my x800gto2-flashed x850xtpe edition and the gto2 from sapphire is an x850 plus a vivo chip and dual dvi up to 580/645 without any vmods, that' 180 over the rated for that card, and 40mhz over the rated for the xtpe. and whenever infared feels inclined to help me out with this vmod issue,i'm hoping to have the same 645 he's got, and x850's or any vid card is not fast enough the way it is, if it was you wouldn't be here trying to figure out ways to make everything faster, for an overclocker, nothing is ever fast enough.

yes.. but in the end i think it comes down to money.. i overclock everything as a matter of course.. it just seems pointless not to.. but.. in the end if u have the money to spare it makes more sense to buy a better/later product.. course that will get overclocked as well.. he he

there is only so much mileage in anything.. flogging it to death dont always make sense.. especially when i can buy a 1900xt 256 card for the same money as i paid for my x800 gto2.. cheaper in fact..

thow if the money aint there it aint there..

ps.. i think infrared even followed the spend some more money principle.. he bought another one and went crossfire..

613/613 no voltmods, just an X850XT with a stock (I say stock because Infrared knows how to uber-mod a silencer :)) ATISilencer5.

i cant seem to go above 607 gpu and the memory i havent gone past 600 either?its not geting to hot on full loads either but just wondering do people think its better to have a higher mem or higher gpu??

also mine is gecube does this make any difference at all??

same as mine.. but from what i remember it was quite a good score from a none volt modded gto2.. mine would go a little faster but not much.. about 555/620 was its limit.. and that was with the artic silencer..

a real 850xt pe went a little higher on the core but not the x800 gto2s..

It doesn't really make much difference, unless there is a very big difference between the clockspeeds. That's the problem with the x800xl's. The R430 core can only reach 450mhz usually, and that does hold the memory back. Don't worry about slight differences like that though ;)

so its bes to try and keep my gpu and memory speeds similar then,so far i have got 600/600 no probs and ide temp is 41 and playing far cry the hottest it gets is 59

thats any good?

EMT helps a lot though w/ XL's! Thanks infrared!

there isnt much point in slowing one down to the speed of the other thow.. run both near their max and u get max performance..

just cos my 850 core only ran at 540 dont mean i should slow the memory down from 600 to 540 as well.. that would just give me a loss.. ati dont sell em that way so why should u clock em that way..
