So all of you whom might have a dfi nf4 board, and don't search the dfi street forums i have something to tell you. There is a nice custom bios out there for us, you can get it on dfi-street.com it's call 704-2bta. It's a nice bios and just by flashing to it, i was able to get to 2.7ghz stable with my 3500 venice, which i've never been able to do before. Don't know how it helped, but it did. So if any of you are flash crazy. flash that bios and see how it works. great for tccd, uccc, bh-5 mem.

we know about it ;) the 704-2bta is very system specific it seems however, some folk get great results with it while others flat out cant get it stable or kills their bios chip requiring a hotflash.

It's been out for the longest time, but I think the modded 4/6/06 is better.

I've got a standard DFI bios, the latest they made for Ultra-D. Why would I need to change?

If it works fine for you, keep it. Only upgrade a BIOS if you think one of your problems are going to be fixed in the new one.

Which BIOS do you have?

i'm using the 704-2bta custom bios, it actually helped me increase my oc about 50mhz, not much but every little bit counts, it also pushed my mem read score over 7000mB/s which is awsome for 2gigs of corsair and a venice chip.

Yeah, it's a good BIOS, but I'm just saying it's based on an older BIOS. You should check out the new Modded 4/6/06 BIOS too.

Also, did you adjust everything on the Memory Setting area?

BIOS 4.06 , which is to me quite good already. I don't have much to complain really.

Yeah, that's the 4/6/2006 BIOS. If you feel it's good, don't change it to the modded 4/6/06 BIOS then.

I see. So if I updated to the 704-2BTA bios, then what should I expect, besides possible instability?

Apparently the Dram drive strength can be set to 9 with this bios... ?

Actually, I read that this bios is * OVER * 1 year old. Anyoen can confirm?

:o

Yes it is. If your BIOS now is good, don't change. If you need something, get the "Modded" 4/6/06 BIOS.

Hi There,
I have just built my second system with a x2 4800+ and 2 x 1GB Corsair XMS4000 (ddr500) ram I decided on a Dfi-Lanparty Ultra-D (modded now to sli) I heard great things about the Overclocking ability of these boards but I can't get my rig to boot into windows beyond 230Mhz. I have the cpu at 1.5, the chipset at 1.6 and the memory at 2.9 htt turned down to 4. I didn't get a manual with this board (second hand) can anyone give me a few pointers to where I could be going wrong?

Or is there a custom BIOS for this memory that could save me a few headache's.

Cheers
