hey people, how 'bout to write down your, ehm, rigs of the ancient times? Sorry but i'm just a bit nostalgic- i was among the first owners of a PC in our small town :)

::~1992 - mmm, my first PC - a 486/33, i've changed the proc to 486/66 5 mins later
::1996 - 486dx4/120 - yep, that one was better, but it sucked hard - freezed like hell
::1997 - amdK5/150 - thrown in a garage a few moments after i realized i couldn't install win on that one
::2000 - ohh, first Pmmx200 (it was actually a P233 but the mobo sucked, and i couldn't get the mouse working) - playback of an 128kbit mp3 at full Q - at last!
::2002 - P2/350 in times when everybody else had a sparkin' new (:)) K7 600 and higher - booring, at least divx movies worked
::2003 - my current rig, k7 1300, though almost everybody else has three times faster P3 or K8, i'm pretty happy with it - i made it thru Half2 and doom3 (really scary w/ 10fps- :)), i can't complain about it's performance

199?- My oldest comp was a 90 Mhz intel overdrive with 32mb of ram. Dont know much about it, it was a long time ago.

2001- PowerPC 206 Mhz, 64 Mbyte ram

2002- 333 MHz celeron, 64 Mbytes ram, 6.4 Gbyte harddrive, 32 Mbyte TNT2 Model 64 video card

2003- Athlon XP 2500+, 512 Mbytes PC2700, 80 Gbyte ATA133 harddrive, Radeon 9200SE 128 Mbyte, Abit KD7A mobo

2005- Athlon XP 2500+@3200+, 512 Mbytes PC3200 ram, 80 Gbyte ATA133 harddrive, Radeon 9550@9600 Pro 256 Mbyte (almost), Abit NF7-S v2.0 mobo

1997: Pentium MMX 166@200Mhz, 64 MBs RAM, 10 GBs HDD, 6 MBs Canopus Pure 3D (Voodoo 1)

1998: Celeron 300@337Mhz (no 2nd level cache!), 128MBs RAM, 20 GBs HDD, 32 MBs Creative 3d Blaster (TNT2)

Cyrix 200MX - 166 MHz, 160 MB RAM 3x scsi HDD (formerly used as server - really biiiig tower an super noisy PSU - but about 400W :D ) - combat helicopter :D

okay, now seriously... :D friend just fried his MoBo with his fathers gfx... Actually his father just f**ked his mobo at work, so the little fella' took his gfx and put it in... too late he came to that the gfx actually destroyed BOTH mobos(:()... now i'm gonna lend him my oooold ATI rage 2+ PCI to see if it is just (just:D) the AGP... anybody knows of some good pci graphics? i know it would be on par with agp 2x (1x??), but anything is better than this shitty piece of metallized pcb...

You can get the Radeon 8500 in pci I think, and the 9200 series.
