Graphics card maker EVGA has announced what it claims is the fastest board around that's based on NVIDIA's GeForce 7950 GT GPU. It also incorporates support for the HDCP copy-protection system beloved of high-definition content providers. EVGA's e-GeForce 7950GT KO Superclocked card runs the GPU at 600MHz and the 512MB of GDDR 3 memory at 1.45GHz, the company said. The board provides a pair of dual-link DVI ports and can drive screens at up to 2,048 x 1,546 resolution. It also has an s-video port. Two DVI-to-VGA converters are included in the box for older displays. The e-GeForce 7950GT KO Superclocked is available now for around €359 (£242).

Kind of a shame, I was hoping they would at least match the speds of the 7900GT KO Superclock, they did it with the GPU speed, but fell very short on the memory.

I was tempted to send in my 7900GT as a trade-up(a free one at that:rockout:) but now that I see the actual clocks are lower, I don't think the 7950GT KO Superclock will even come close the to the performance of my current 7900GT KO Superclock(600/1600).

why not just wait a few months and get an 8 series geforce, no dooubt the upper midrange card which should cost cheaper than this EVGA 7950 should outperform it as well as the dx10 suppport

Because by the time the 8 series cards are out the time limit on the step-up program on my card will have run out. Plus from what I am seeing I really don't want one of the first 8 series cards. Too power hungry, too hot, and too big for my tastes.
