Broadband provider Carphone Warehouse has bought AOL UK, increasing its customer base by roughly 1.5 million. Carphone Warehouse agreed to pay £370 million for AOL UK, with £250 million immediately paid and the remaining £120 million to be paid over the next 18 months. The addition of 1.5 million broadband customers and 600,000 dial up customers makes Carphone Warehouse the third largest broadband provider in the UK, next to NTL and BT.
