The aftermath of the AMD & ATI merger is starting to show. Looks like the ATI All In Wonder part from ATI did not make it through the merger. The people behind the AIW cards are part of the 1200 affected on the ATI side, while AMD is letting 800 employees go.

I just bought an AIW X1900 to build an entire system around on NewEgg for $209. I'm sad to see these go because of their great price for the feature set provided. Some people make a good point, however, that if you want to upgrade your video card, the Tuner goes with it. If the price of a tuner plus the price of a descent card were as affordable as the All-In-Wonder it would probably be worth getting them separate.

The cheapest I have seen this card since I bought it from NewEgg is on ZipZoomFly (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=321354)...

What was so special about AIW cards anyway nowadays? I'm not saying they aren't good, I genuinely haven't looked at what they had to offer at the moment. A few years back they were good because they had Video In, but there are so many VIVO cards around now that isn't as special.

They've got quite a bit more than most cards have to offer. (At $209 anyway)

Radeon X1900 GPU - 256MB GDDR3 PCIe x16
Avivo & H.264 accelleration (for HD output from Blu-Ray and HD-DVD)
1 x DVI-I out
1 x VGA out
Stereo Audio, S-Video, Composite video in & out
YPrPb (RGB video) out
2560x1600 res (Digital)
MulTView [Picture-in-picture] (with second tuner card installed)
FM Radio Tuner
ATI Remote Wonder Plus - RF remote (mine works in my living room 40 feet away from the receiver in the other room)

I'm sure if the AIW was a profitable line, they'd keep building and selling them. Volume probably didn't justify the development costs.

This is old news the AIW series has been thought to of been pulled months ago. Its still not truly coming down from ATi/AMD on print yet. Its more than likly it will be pulled, I think it would of stayed it they would of kept making XT and XTX all in wonder cards.

Maybe they'll integrate more of these features into their standard cards?

no doubt the intel Graphics division will be gaining a few employees and possibly nivdia may take some new staff also
