I have VisionTek 9600XT 256 MB. It has 500/300 speeds and Hynix 3.3 memory. I was wondering if I could flash the bios to the Abit 9600XT VIVO 256 MB Bios found on this site. More specifically I was wondering the best way to go about doing that, how to back up the current bios, what kind of performance gain if any would be possible, and just what exactly is VIVO. Also the memory runs fairly hot and finds artifacts at its default speed. I was wondering what the best solution is to get rid of the heat.

I flashed the Abit VIVO bios to the card and it pretty much did nothing. It came up under windows correctly but wouldnt work right. I didnt bother backing up the bios because I noticed in the bios section on this site that it had bios for a VisionTek 9600XT. I didnt realize at the time that that bios was for Samsung 3.3 memory and not Hynix. I tried several other bios for 9600XT with Hynix 3.3 but none have worked. I was wondering if there was anyone that could get me a copy of the original bios for the Hynix 3.3 memory.

Not sure what you would be flashing your 9600XT anyway it is what it is and VIVO is of no Performance Advantages just what Xoom said. Basically means you can plug a Dongle in that allows you to input outside Video Sources

yeah. flashing to ViVo won't add ViVo. ViVo requires additional hardware on your card. if you don't have it, you won't get it
